Rich Olaya, AIA
PRINCIPAL
With more than 28 years in practice, Rich has amassed extensive experience in an array of project types including museum, religious, university, and high-rise commercial and multi-family buildings. Olaya Studio has recently expanded and will now be known as O Z Collaborative, where Rich continues as a principal.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Rich’s multi-cultural background provides clients with a unique cosmopolitan perspective. As a Philadelphia resident for over 30 years, Rich also has an intimate understanding of the region’s history and context.
Rich, along with his two sons, has been a resident of University City for the last 20 years. He’s an active member in his community, contributing his time to various arts and cultural organizations in the city. Rich’s interests outside of the office include participating in Olympic distance triathlons, early morning surfing excursions at the Jersey Shore and making traditional Colombian dishes like arepas
