The Kornberg School of Dentistry is leading the field in establishing pedagogy trends within the university’s teaching classroom. Temple University once again asked O Z Collaborative to lead the effort in redesigning a cluster of spaces in the Old Dental School, which included an out-of-date lecture room, into a new and innovative tiered learning commons. The 3,057 SF Learning Commons include seating for 150 students.
The custom furniture that alternates between oval and rectangular tables is designed to facilitate group discussion. Lecture presentations and student participation is encouraged through the use of multiple monitors, speakers, and microphones. Highly durable and attractive finishes include LVT flooring, acoustical ceiling clouds and sound absorption panels to mitigate noise levels.
