O Z Collaborative (formerly BWA) provided planning, design and project oversight for the complete renovation and historic restoration of ACHIEVEability’s 25-unit flagship affordable, multifamily development, which also houses the non-profit’s offices. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so preserving the original character of both the interior and the street facades was a project priority. Less visible but of greater impact for the single-parent families whom ACHIEVEability serves are the comprehensive envelope upgrades (thermal performance, new windows, roofing, masonry restoration), all new high-efficiency building systems, new kitchens and bathrooms, and the inclusion of accessible apartments.
